"Bohemian-chic" in green surroundings

STOCKHOLM. In a seemingly endless flow of new developments in the Swedish capital, up-dated plans for Nya Årstafältet (New Årsta Field) south of the city center were presented on Tuesday.
Kristina Alvendal, vice mayor for city planning, described the new neighbourhood as one of contrast with a feeling of “bohemian-chic”. Up to 4,000 new homes will be built in different scales in an unpredictable landscape. The winning master plan Arkipelag by French architects Archi5 calls for a lively, walk-friendly neighbourhood with mixed-use housing near an improved park landscape.
Nya Årstafältet is part of an ambitious scheme for future development in the new Stockholm City Plan, set to be adopted next month.
